Terms

These are the terms for using Sage. Sage is for students, and students (or their parents or guardians) sign up and pay themselves. It is not provided through a school, and no school is involved in your account. Last updated 26 October 2026.

Who can use Sage

  • Sage is for secondary school students in Ireland, and for adults studying the same courses.
  • Under 16s need a parent or guardian's permission before they can start. The parent or guardian can withdraw it at any time.
  • Nobody under 18 enters this agreement or pays: a parent or guardian buys the plan and accepts these terms for them.
  • Each account is for one person. Please don't share your password.

What Sage is, and isn't

  • Sage is an AI study helper. It is not a person, a teacher or a tutor you can hold to a result, and it can make mistakes.
  • It gives hints and explanations, not final answers, and it doesn't give grades or predict results.
  • It won't write your coursework, including Classroom-Based Assessments (CBAs). The State Examinations Commission (SEC) requires any use of AI in coursework to be acknowledged.
  • Its safety checks lower risks but can't remove them. It isn't a counselling service: anyone who is worried should talk to a trusted adult.

Paying

  • The student plan costs €9.99 a month. The price is always shown before you pay.
  • Card payments are handled by Stripe. Sage never sees or keeps card details.
  • You pay each month in advance, starting the day you buy. To cancel, email hello@studysage.online; the plan runs to the end of the month you paid for.
  • Each plan has a monthly allowance of AI use. If it runs out, tutoring pauses until the next monthly payment goes through. There are no extra charges and no automatic upgrades.
  • If a payment fails, Stripe tries again for a short time. If the plan then ends, the student can no longer use the tutor.
  • Your rights under Irish and EU consumer law are not affected by anything on this page.

Using Sage fairly

  • Use Sage for schoolwork only.
  • Don't try to make Sage break its rules, harm anyone, or hand over answers for coursework.
  • Don't type private details (addresses, phone numbers, other people's names) or send photos of faces.
  • We may pause or close an account that breaks these rules. We'll tell the account holder why.

Your information

Sage is in charge of the information in your account. The privacy policy explains what we keep and why. When a plan ends, nothing is deleted straight away: 90 days later we ask the account holder whether to delete it, and you can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.

Changes and ending

  • If we change these terms or the price, we'll email the account holder at least 30 days before. You can cancel before the change starts.
  • If Sage ever closes, we'll tell you at least 30 days before, and won't charge for any time after it closes.

Responsibility and law

  • Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that the law doesn't allow us to limit. Otherwise, our total responsibility in any year is limited to what you paid in that year.
  • These terms are governed by Irish law.
